Sumaq Coffee: Discover Charlotte's Cozy Bakery & Coffee Haven

Best place ever! I’ve been coming here mostly during my diagnoses with cancer, as the only thing I wanted during chemotherapy was their alfajore-cookies! I still come here after because the vibe is amazing, the baristas are the best, the food/treats are always on point. Thank you for everything. I highly recommend Sumaq as your coffee spot.

Great atmosphere and very spacious building! This would be a very relaxing place to study and be productive. The decor is very inviting and aesthetic. There is a wide selection of bakery items and the Sumaq Latte is great.

Absolutely delicious coffee with great holiday themed specials! Super friendly staff and beautiful, relaxing sitting areas. Food is great quality and also delicious! They also have milk alternatives (oat, almond, and coconut) for drinks. We will definitely return to Sumaq next time we're in town!

This place gets it right—no shortcuts, no gimmicks, just quality across the board. I tried their signature, house-named drink and it was dialed in perfectly: smooth, balanced, and clearly crafted by someone who respects the process. Not overpowered, not watered down—just a solid cup that does what it’s supposed to do. The atmosphere is calm and intentional. It’s the kind of space where you can actually think, work, or slow the day down a notch. Service was welcoming and professional without trying too hard, which is always a win. Bottom line: great coffee, great vibe, and attention to detail you can taste. This is the kind of spot you come back to—on purpose.

Next level coffee shop. The Peruvian empanadas were so crispy and delicious with the spinach and cheese being a standout. The sauce that comes with them is excellent. Coffees and cinnamon bread were delicious. The waffle was the biggest surprise. Don’t leave this place without trying it! Crisp exterior, fluffy in the middle, served with dulce de leche dipping sauce! Large space with multiple rooms to work, relax or read.

One of my favorite coffee shops in Charlotte! This place is great, sophiscitated clean and great for a hangout or simply work remotely while enjoying some great coffee. Staff is friendly and fully bilingual. My favorite item on the menu: The Dulce de Leche Latte. It's the best I have tried so far. The food menu also offers a lot of options. My wife and I came here for her birthday gathering with her coworkers. We got the Dulce de Leche Latte, Sumaq Latte and the fried empanadas (beef and chicken). Everything was as usual: Fantastic and delicous! The service was also great. Elmer, the manager, helped.us with reserving the space. He is always friendly, helpful and professional. Sumaq is centrally located with free parking. If you are not a local, no worries, the GPS will take you straight to it. Overall, 100% recommended!

Came here to meet up with a friend for coffee! Came into this lovely coffee shop with plenty of natural light and seating options. Noise level is mild even with several people being here making it the perfect place to work, read, or meet up with friends. Service was super friendly and patient. The chai was phenomenal, as well! Not too milky or sugary. Highly recommend stopping by!
